A Tale of Fortune and of Fame.
Two young good friends set out
For fortune and for fame
But never did they dream
Of how much they would face

The one named Cat went to Broadway
To make a name among the lights
That shine so bright like stars at night
Or sunlight in the day

The one named Jen danced cabaret
At night to pay her way
Through acting school so that she would
Be known in Hollywood one day

As time moved on Cat wrote a song
That topped the Billboard Charts
And Jen was snapped by IMG
And modeled suits on yachts

A hit songwriter and model
The duo had made big time
And then a man named George Jameson
Fair waltzed into their lives

A man of money and of fame
He was everything they dreamt
A man who seduced Cat and Jen
And promised both they were his "dame"

But secrets of the rich
Are never secrets for too long
And soon the news was leaked
And their friendship soon was torn

Apart as they both fought
For the man they thought they loved
Until one day George bought
A ring for Jen the one he loved

Poor Cat so angry and distraught
And poisoned by gossip
That soon it was a gun she brought
To Jen's wedding party

A single shot and Jen was left
An instant sad widow
Another shot and Jen was left
A crippled sad widow

Cat called her lawyer but too late
The damage done she had to pay
To prison's cell she had to go
A lifetime's worth to cry her woes

Jen now was rich but all for naught
For peace she craved could not be bought
And soon her will to live was gone
For pain had made her all forlorn

And so the day came when Cat heard
Her old friend Jen was dead
An overdose of pills they said
To take away her pain

And wept she did and cry she did
And then she hung herself
To pay for all the things she did
For fortune and for wealth

Here's to the Giant Oaks!
Trees and roots tangle in the ground
Branches which pick me up and take me over the sky
Acorns forming patterns in the sky
Squirrels which run away
Shrubbery grows as they should
And flowers bloom
Their sweet-smelling potency in the air
Far across the globe goes the tree's branches
Enveloping and intertwining with other branches
Sweet-smelling fir, sturdy oak, fresh birch,
Lavender, vanilla, exotic jasmine
Fall away among the branches
And let the weaving pattern catch you
of shadows and whatnot
Air is your best friend
It lets you just fall
As you may
And when you catch yourself, you'll discover what you truly are

Prayer for an Angel on the Beach
Like a prayer for an angel
Against the sun-washed ocean
By the far-away shore
Like a whisper in the leaves of the palmtrees
I whisper to you
Like sunshine
Against your ear
Don't ask me how I knew it was you
Sun against our arms
Look out over the drenched pinks and blues and reds
A clashing of a tie-dyed skirt
I didn't remember asking you
To whisper into my ear
But whisper you did
Like an angel

Time and Wine Binds
Sitting outside
Balanced on the balcony
Smoking a cigarette
Looking at the full moon
A brilliant orb in the sky
Sky Lantern
Which lights our every (day and) night in our lives
Like an endless ceaseless turning
of the waves of time at the shore of our lives
Kneeling beside concrete
Hovering in the sky
I ask you
Is not time and wine the greatest of all?
Both ripen friendship
